Mandatory Acknowledgment: All operators and passengers must review and sign this agreement prior to machine handover at our Golden shop. Off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation carries inherent mountain risks.
1. Operator Requirements & Verification
Primary renter and all designated drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
A valid, government-issued driver’s license must be presented at vehicle pickup.
Operators must possess an active automobile insurance policy.
No unauthorized or unlisted drivers may operate the vehicle under any circumstances.
2. Security Deposit & Financial Liability
A $1,500 security deposit authorization hold is placed on the renter’s credit card at pickup.
The hold is released within 48–72 hours following return and post-rental technician inspection, provided the machine is free of damage.
The renter is strictly liable for all collision, rollover, suspension, belt, or undercarriage damage occurring during the rental period up to full vehicle replacement value.
Tire sidewall cuts and punctures are the financial responsibility of the renter ($250 replacement fee per damaged tire).
3. Trail Boundaries & Colorado OHV Regulations
Vehicles must be operated exclusively on designated USFS, BLM, or Colorado State OHV trails.
No off-trail travel, mud-bogging, extreme rock crawling on unrated routes, or paved highway driving (except designated street-legal trail transfer zones).
All operators and passengers must wear DOT-certified helmets, eye protection, and seatbelts at all times while the machine is running.
Zero tolerance policy for drugs, alcohol, or prescription narcotics. Violation results in immediate forfeiture of the rental and full deposit without refund.
4. Pickup, Inspection & Fuel Policy
Pickup and return location is our shop: 13601 W 43rd Drive, Unit C-7, Golden, CO 80403.
Renter and shop staff conduct a joint walk-around inspection documenting pre-existing condition, fluid levels, and tire tread.
Vehicles are provided with a full tank of 91+ premium gasoline and must be returned with a full tank (or a $10/gallon fueling charge applies).
Machines must be returned relatively clean of excessive mud clumps to permit damage inspection. Excessive caked mud entails a $75 wash fee.
5. Mechanical Breakdowns & Trail Recovery
All Wild West UTV machines are rigorously inspected, serviced, and prepped by certified technicians prior to departure.
In the event of a mechanical warning light, belt failure, or engine temperature spike, the operator must shut down the vehicle immediately and contact our Golden shop line at (720) 720-3428.
Self-induced trail recovery (e.g. winching out of illegal wilderness terrain or rollovers) is solely the financial responsibility of the renter.
6. Cancellation & Weather Policy
Cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time receive a 100% refund.
Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a 50% reservation cancellation fee.
Extreme severe weather (e.g. blizzards, active USFS trail closures) permits a complimentary reschedule within 12 months.
